Music Video Finale

P3T6 American Dream from Kapaa Middle School MEDIA on Vimeo.

This is not my song. All music credit goes to Switchfoot.

It's that time of year again. It's time for the music video project in GT.  I have a team of four this time. I have Isaac Dubey, Emily Harshorn, Aftan Dodd, and me. We are making a music video of American Dream by Switchfoot. The decision process was not democratic. We only had two minutes left and Emily suggested the song. We had nothing else, so we went with it. That is basically how we came up with our ideas.

Our storyline starts with people working, getting money, and being sad. This goes with the lyrics "when success is equated with excess", and "this is not my American dream". Someone walks in, "kidnaps" workers, and tells them to have fun. At the end, everyone is having fun. They are fulfilling their "American Dream". That is how we wanted to go at it.

We are madly working to get this done. We were the last team to get approved and things are getting rough. To be honest, I don't think this will be showcasing our best work. That being said, we are about 50% done and we have TWO work sessions left. Yes, TWO. We are going to be cutting it very close with this one, if at all. I'm legitimately scared. I will have to somehow pull myself out of this situation. Hopefully, I'll be able to pull it off.
